December Nights

One of the things I missed most about San Diego was Christmas time in Balboa Park. Every year, the first weekend in December, Balboa Park (a city park above downtown) opens all of their museums for free, the international houses all have food booths set up, the buildings are beautiful with Christmas lights and decorations all around, and groups of carolers sing songs and roam around the park. There is live music, a carnival, and my favorite thing of all: kettle corn. And funnel cake. And garlic fries. Ok, all of my favorite things are there!

We went to the Museum of Man.
We ate shwarma (Turkish sandwiches) and they even had Turkish Delight. I am reading The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe to my 5th graders so they will be super excited about it!

And now I am eating kettle corn for breakfast. So pretty much winning at life right now!

Tonight is "Festivus for the restofus" with our friends complete with a Festivus pole and the airing of grievances. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year :)
