L is for

LOVE!

Happy Valentine's Day!  Here are some things I'm loving this Valentine's Day and they all start with "L".

The LEXUS 400H we bought on Monday after the transmission on my Saturn Vue gave out.

I know what you're thinking.... "How convenient!  Did you time that just right so that within one week of each other both of your cars would need replaced?"  And the answer is NO, no we did not. Something I'm not loving so much this Valentine's Day is having a car loan. But the new car is great, it's a hybrid so it's really quiet, it's a dark gray color with pretty light gray leather interior. It has butt warmers (the true mark of any car worth having :) and a back up camera so you can see the people you're hitting up close. It also has this cool navigation system with a touch screen interactive calendar and bla bla bla. But the best of all...

I can LISTEN to books on tape because it has a tape deck. Most cars don't play cassettes anymore, right? So basically this car is the perfect mix of vintage classic and well, I don't know. I don't even read books that much so listening to them in the car might be a longshot. Also, upon closer inspection it reads "theft deterrent design" across the tape slot, so perhaps installing an outdated cassette player was only to deter criminals from stealing an obviously not-worth-your-time stereo system.  Whatever, it has butt warmers!

I am also loving my new LEISURELY routine of foot spa and an alcoholic bevvy after a long day. I haven't even started the arduous task of filing our two-state-taxes yet. Priorities, man!

Obviously I LOVE my Hoagie-Bear, and the LIMERICK he wrote me in this Val Day card.

Sweet and a little cheese-ball. Don't worry, he's saving the intellectual writing for his dissertation. and job applications.  He has been busy applying for full time, tenure track professorships at LUTHERAN universities in Orange County. I don't think we're really Lutheran, but it goes with the L theme, so I'm LOVING it!

I'm also outing myself as a full on LUNATIC because I am still playing Candy Crack Crush.  Just wanted to document my highest score ever. Be very impressed, or shake your head in disapproval. The first step is admitting you have a problem. I can quit anytime I want to.

Loving this LITTLE taste of heaven in the morning.
Wish it came in the big size because this only lasted me one week.

Loving this LOBSTER dinner Andrew made for us tonight.

Loving our LONG-LASTING warm weather in the winter spell.  Sorry snowpocalypt friends. This just in: you had an earthquake too?! I wish California would give you some sunshine instead of an earthquake!

Don't hate, just come visit!

Loving this late Birthday present... a LOUIS VUITTON "delightful" purse.
Andrew purchased it from this website and it was a fraction of the cost. Still a big fraction,
but delightful is going to be my word of the year for 2014,
and what better way to remind me to be delightful than a fun new bag?!

Lastly, today was full of LOTS of candy and treats from my students. Somehow those kids are so much more adorable and tolerable when they come to class bearing gifts.
We're going to have to make this a regular thing :)

Tomorrow starts LADIES weekend... my mom and my sister are coming to visit and good times will ensue. Yay!

Hope you have a LOVELY 3 day weekend!

  1. Woo hoo for a new car for you!!! You had me at "butt warmer," but really at 84 degrees in February, don't you need cooled seats?!?!? Glad you had a good day with your man and kudos to those kids for wisely showering you with candy!

  2. Whoa-- that car is awesome!!! Especially the sweet tape deck!!! It seems strange that a tape deck and a hybrid can coexist. :) Also-- excellent limerick! I approve!
