Goodbye May

3 weeks 'til Summer vacation and I am r.e.a.d.y. for a break. That's actually a geeky play on words because I have to go to several reading conferences this Summer to prepare for teaching 1st grade next year. Meanwhile, May is coming to a close with nary a mention on this 'ol blog. So here it goes...

May looked like:

An extra fun weekend with my best friend, Ashley. Tons of adventures all around San Diego including a Padres game and a wild ride around town on the trolley.

We successfully avoided a detour to Tijuana, Mexico and saw some very interesting characters on the public transportation system. All in all, a win!

Andrew and I completed more bloodwork and pre-IVF consultations at SDFC. Not much to report for now, but July is just around the corner so extra prayers are much appreciated :)
So cool that my dress matches the window coverings and I blend into the building. Totally planned that one. Did you catch that there's also a plastic surgeon on site at the facility? I did! If we don't leave that place with a baby, I'm leaving with a banging new body! Silver lining, guys :)

Speaking of a beach body, I don't have one. So I invested in some chic new cover-ups and drowned my fatty sorrows in Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
May was full of beautiful sunsets and beach days. It was also full of Santa Ana winds and 10 gnarly fires.
The district even cancelled school one day. They called it the equivalent of a "Snow Day".
We were fine, but the air quality was no bueno.

School has been busy with field trips to the USS Midway and Splash Lab as well as promotional events like the 5th grade girl's tea and gentlemen's lunch. The rest of the days are a toss up.
Spring Fever hit 3 months ago and there aren't enough detention slips to go around.
I mean "I love my job. I love my job. I love my job."

Andrew travelled to Washington, D.C. for a lit conference and ran into some of our good friends from Texas. Small world!
Andrew got back for a day and then left for the rest of the week to attend training in LA for his teaching job this Summer.  Me and the puppies miss him.
Memorial Day weekend was a nice preview to Summer
and I found the coolest sunnies at Charlotte Rousse. They're kind of a hazard to drive in because the fifty little stars are super distracting to my retinas, but they're so fun!
With that I leave you with some words to live by:
Fun over function.
Especially when it comes to festive eyewear.
