Weekend Snapshots

Last weekend we drove home to visit our families. We took both dogs with us and it is true what they say... "One is one, and two is twenty." I volunteered to drive the 6 hour commute while Andrew was stuck caring for the puppies. They had a whole car to roam around in and insisted on sharing his lap the WHOLE time. Stinkers!
We weren't able to go home last weekend for Father's Day because Andrew's Summer job (teaching for Institute of Reading Development) requires him to work Sundays. So we drove up late Thursday night and stayed through Saturday and spent tons of time with our families.

Our Texan friends, the Johnsons, were also in Pismo Beach for their annual Summer family reunion. So we all met up for our usual "jump" photo and a fun visit.

Such a small world! Matt and Melissa will be in San Diego this week, so we'll get to meet up with them again for a bonus visit! Hanging out with them was our favorite part of living in Texas, so it's nice to catch up with them in California.

My mom and I went for a sunset walk at the beach. Everyone says we look like sisters. I don't see it :)

Tomorrow is Andrew's 31st Birthday, so before heading back to San Diego we went out to lunch with his family.
His sister Leah and her fiancĂ©, Rae, are getting married in October so we are helping them plan their big day. I'm really grateful for Pinterest because "lesbian wedding" isn't in my typical party planning palette.  Needless to say, it's going to be a fun wedding!  We're so happy for them.

Back to Andrew's Birthday... it's tomorrow and I have nothing planned. Maybe he wants another puppy?!
